Innocence

I finished reading an article about a 12 year old girl who was raped in Afghanistan. How inhumane. I am disgusted that such lowly people live in the world who could do such a terrible thing to a child. A CHILD. She is 12 years old, she does not deserve to be gang raped by gunmen. She deserves to still play with dolls and enjoy her imagination. Now? She's forced to appear in court in front of men she does not know(who probably remind her of her rapists) and be filled with fear every second of her life. Children are beautiful, because they are innocent and filled with the need to learn and grow. No child should be subjected to such disgusting, demeaning, and cruel behavior. Apparently Afghanistan is the worst country for children to grow up in. A 3 yr old girl was raped as well. 3 fucking years old???????!!!!! How can anyone take away the enjoyment of being a child from this little girl????????? She doesn't know ANYTHING about life! Now she is forced to grow up traumatized and afraid of men???? This is ridiculous. It makes me sick!
When I think of the 3 yr olds I have photographed I cannot imagine how they could possibly comprehend the horrible act that has been committed against them. They are innocent bystanders. No child should ever have to be placed in such a position that would rid them of the experience of growing up. No child....
